Recycling Roundup is partnering with TwispWorks and the Seattle University Albers School of Business to develop an organic waste recycling program for the Methow Valley. The vision is to collect various types of green waste - food scraps, yard waste, manure, woody debris, agricultural by-products, compostable containers - and create a line of quality soil amendments. Potential products are mulch, top soil, and compost. These products will be available in the valley and beyond.
This is an incredible opportunity for all participants to learn a lot and offer something useful to the community. The goal is to create local jobs and increase the valley's economic diversity by introducing new sustainable industry.. Recycling Roundup would love to hear from individuals or businesses in the community who have suggestions or who are interested in collaborating on the project. There is a tremendous amount of local expertise and several folks have stepped forward to assist with the project. There's room for more. If this venture is to be successful it will take the whole valley working together in that special way the Methow does.
